About Us

Golden Willow Seeds and Sundries is the passion project of former chef and artist Alexandra Kloch (and to varying degrees, her dear, sweet family, who gets roped into helping on many hot afternoons). A passionate grower, she's a former farm kid who's found herself temporarily residing in suburbia. As such, the challenge to cram as many possible plants into a compact .25 acre Cottage Garden, continues: Ale gains the upper hand on exposed dirt and shrinking lawn year after year. 

When not working in her own garden, Ale enjoys volunteer work with the Oregon Master  Gardeners since getting her certification in 2019, as well as participating in local Dahlia, Rose and Hardy Plant Societies.

    Our garden and art studio is located in Troutdale (Zone 8b), just outside of Portland Oregon, at the mouth of the beautiful and windy Columbia Gorge.  We aggressively cull all seedlings to ensure that only the strongest are around at bloom time and find most varieties are well suited to our temperate, low humidity summer.
